Qplaze brings suits against «Euroinform» (ТМ «Otpad») at the rate of 300 000 US dollars

300 000 US dollars – this is the amount of two suits of VCS (Qplaze) for infringement of author’s rights, submitted for consideration of Kyiv Economic court. Suits are brought against «Euroinform» company, continuing selling of Qplaze products after all treaties were dissolved.

Andrey Baranovskiy, president of Qplaze, said:

- «We had brought an action to a court against «Euroinform» company (ТМ «Otpad») due to «Euroinform» after all treaties were dissolved continued and keeps on selling of our products. Written claims and appeals to «Euroinform» had no effect – games keep on selling without permission and royalty payments, in very impudent and shameless manner.

Of course we made careful preparations before bringing suits to the court – we fixed violations, made control customs and called specialists who confirmed us in our actions, etc., after this we brought all documents to Kyiv Economic court. The court had considered them and pronounced judgment to bring to actions in total sum one and the half million of hryvnas.

Besides, since October 1, 2006 exclusive rights for our program products are transferred to our publisher, NOMOC Publishing Company, this company also suffered damages from «Euroinform’s» actions, so I think these suits are not final ones.

Now it is soon to talk about future of these suits, as the process is on the beginning stage, and also, judicial system of our country is sufficiently complicated; but we decided that we will not give up this process until the ultimate authority. We are also, full of determination to protect our rights and to put an end to this lawlessness.
